Welcome to the home page of Dr. John McKelliget, Chairman of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.  The department's Website is at http://mechanical.uml.edu/

I teach courses in Dynamics , Dynamic Systems, Mathematical Methods , Differential Equations,  Heat Conduction, and computational thermofluids.

My research interests involve the numerical modeling of a wide range of problems in continuum mechanics, a field that includes structural mechanics, fluid flow, heat transfer, and electromagnetics. A combination of control volume finite difference and finite element techniques are employed.

While much of my work has involved the numerical modeling of thermal plasma systems, my interests are considerably wider and I am actively applying these techniques to a variety of systems in materials processing and manufacturing.

I am a Senior Member of IEEE and a member of ASME.
